Re: Call for Applications for the 2017-18 Negotiated Salary Trial Program
It’s that time of the year to submit requests to participate in the general campus Negotiated Salary Trial Program (NSTP), beginning July 1, 2017.
Like the well-established Health Sciences Compensation Plan (HSCP), the NSTP allows ladder and in-residence faculty at participating schools and divisions to utilize non-State funding sources to support a portion of their “total UC salary.” The total UC salary consists of the faculty member’s base salary plus a negotiated salary component that is capped at 30% of the base salary. The total negotiated salary is effective for a one-year period corresponding with the University fiscal cycle of July 1 through June 30.
Now in its final year of the 5-year trial period, the NSTP provides incentives for academic achievements. To participate, faculty members must be in good standing with regard to teaching, research, and service obligations, and remain compliant with all applicable University policies, procedures, and training requirements. For complete information on the Negotiated Salary Trial Program Guidelines, and answers to the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) are available.
Deadline for submitting requests to the Academic Personnel Office is May 15, 2017. All requests must be completed, signed, and sent preferably electronically to Rong Jiang at firstname.lastname@example.org.
