2014-15 Salary Program Memo

Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost

March 23, 2014

Academic Personnel, Chief Administrative Officers, Deans, Department Chairs, Directors, Vice Chancellors, and Vice Provosts

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to inform you that President Janet Napolitano has approved a 3 percent salary increase for faculty and other academic personnel, effective July 1, 2014. Salary scales for faculty and other non-represented academic personnel will be adjusted by 3 percent; medical residents and non-represented librarians are not included, as they are subject to other specific salary programs.

Details on implementation will be forthcoming from the Academic Personnel Office. In the meantime, please note that the July 1 implementation carries implications for a variety of transactions and tasks, including the computation of summer salary rates.

UCOP is not providing the funding for the salary increases, which further constrains our ability to support other campus opportunities and needs. Because maintaining UCLA’s competitiveness in faculty compensation remains a top priority, the Chancellor’s Office will cover the cost of this salary increase.

A system-wide salary increase for policy-covered staff was announced in February.

Thank you for your dedication, service and contributions to the university.

Sincerely,

Scott L. Waugh
Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost
