6 courses per year = 100% for the year
2 courses in a given quarter = 100% for that quarter
4-unit non-lab course can = up to 1.25 courses
4-unit lab course can =up to 1.25 courses
6-unit lab course can= up to 1.50 courses, depending upon laboratory commitment
Physiology Laboratory coordination (for Biology 158, 162, 166, 167, and 170) = 0.75 course each
Shared teaching (1/2 the lectures) for two sections of same course= same weight as the full course (e.g. 1.0, 1.25, etc.)
Biology 5L = 1.5 courses
Biology 495 = 0.5 course
Course development: GE and core courses in the lower division and required for the major (new instructor modifying existing course, depending upon lab or non-lab course) =up to .50 course
GE and core courses in the lower division and required for the major (devise new course) =up to 1.50 courses

Biology 40 can = up to 1.5 courses
