SCHOOL OF DENTISTRY
40 hours per week of clinical or laboratory supervision and instruction for 40 weeks = 100% for the year = 9 IWC/year
(Lecturers in the School of Dentistry are remunerated in the following way: The pay for an annual employee serves as the base pay. Since Lecturers work only 9 months out of 12 months, their pay is calculated at 75% of the base pay of an annual employee.)
1 hour of lecture (not scheduled every week over a given quarter) = 1 hour of clinical or laboratory supervision and instruction (or 1/40 of a full week's workload) = .075 IWC
1 hour of lecture per week over a full quarter requiring significant preparation and responsibility as course chair = 4 hours of clinical or laboratory supervision and instruction per week, each week in that quarter = .30 IWC
