Re: Call for Applications for the 2016-17 Negotiated Salary Trial Program
It’s that time of the year to submit requests to participate in the Negotiated Salary Trial Program (“NSTP”).
As you are aware, the NSTP is a five-year pilot compensation program that allows eligible ladder and in-residence faculty in participating schools and divisions to voluntarily contribute external funding resources toward their total UC salary. Like the well-established Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the NSTP utilizes external sources of funding to support a portion of the total compensation for participating faculty. Now in its third year, the NSTP provides incentives to generate additional non-state funding and rewarding academic merit. To participate, faculty members must be in good standing with regard to all teaching, research, and service obligations. For the complete information on the Negotiated Salary Trial Program Guidelines, go here. Answers to the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) are available here.
The deadline for submitting requests to the Academic Personnel Office is Friday, May 13, 2016. All requests must be completed, signed, and sent preferably electronically to Rong Jiang at rjiang@conet.ucla.edu. Also, the 2016-17 form is attached for your convenience and available online.
For additional information or assistance, please contact Rong via email at rjiang@conet.ucla.edu or by phone at x63687.
Sincerely,
Carole Goldberg
Vice Chancellor, Academic Personnel
